I’m trying to use FieldCE GIS software to collect GPS data of different things in the field but I don’t know how to put a map on my PC-GIS in my PDA.

 1. PC-GIS 9 provides a Load Registered Photo/Image for loading a background map in various formats. Please click on Help then select Online Manual. Enter “Load Registered Photo/Image” in the search box and read the provided information.

You could also capture a Google Earth image to use as a background map.

2. To prepare an image from part or all of the displayed background map for use in FieldCE GIS on your Windows Modile PDA device, first connect your mobile device to your PC.

Select Utilities in PC-GIS 9 then select Mobile Device Interface/Conversion. Then select CE Image Converter. You could select “By dragged rectangle” then click the Drag Rectangle button then drag a rectangle over the area of interest.

Then click the Next button.

Enter a file name then click Go.

3. To transfer the background map to your PDA, select Utilities in PC-GIS 9 then select Mobile Device Interface/Conversion. Then select

Mobile Device Interface and mark the Photo/Image option.

Now you can select the image file from the “Files on PC” section to send to your mobile device.

4. On your mobile device, select the same coordinate system as that used in Step 2 above for preparing the background map.

On your mobile device, select Background Map under the Main Menu.

Select Load Registered Image then select the image file.
