PC-GIS, PC-GPS, PC-MAPPER – which one to get?

“I write because I know CMT’s reputation for effective products and a Google search indicated you may have what I need! (your Home webpage has so many choices and colors and lists I decided it’d be quicker to write than try to interpret it! . . .I seek forestry and land protection/conservation project mapping software. . . I need the ability to put GPS’d and heads up digitized lines, points, polygons on good quality topo and aerial photo basemaps. Plotting deed calls would be handy too. Acreage calculations essential. Final maps with decent text/labels, and the ability to print them at whatever scale I need, are the goal . . . I may be in market for inventory software too.”
We do have a number of choices for various needs and budgets.
