How to use the Digitize Feature function in PC-MAPPER AI 4.0 to select an Area Feature

The Digitize Feature function in PC-MAPPER AI 4.0 is a valuable tool that helps users carry out an airborne inspection. It permits the user to quickly digitize a Point Feature and select the appropriate attributes from a pre-defined Feature List. The user can also digitize an Area Feature and assign the relevant attributes.

The user who sent in the above question wonders if it would be possible to select an existing polygon and tag it with preset attribute values.

It is not possible to select an Area Feature within the Digitize Feature function. However, there is a way to quickly digitize an Area Feature based on an existing Area Feature.

In your Feature List, you can define an Area Topic for the preset polygons and define the desired attribute Values for them.

While using the Digitize Feature, when you select this Area Topic, you can mark the “Include Line/Area Boundary” option in the Digitizing Options window. Then you can click on the preset polygon, create the digitized Area Feature in one second then assign the appropriate attribute value to it.
