How to add a Natural Feature to my job map in PC-GIS X?

“How do I add a natural feature? I prefer it be a line but would also like to know how to add an an area or polygon to a map.”

You can add any Point, Line or Area Feature to the Map by using the Map\Add <Feature> by Mouse function after creating the desired corresponding Topic.

The Add Natural Feature, Add Stream, Add Road and Add Structure tools provided in the Project Tool Kit are for speeding up adding Features to the Map. These commands will let you select a symbol for the Topics named Natural Features, Streams, Roads, and Houses. Then, whenever you click on, say the Add Natural Features tool, the software is ready for you to digitize a Point for the Natural Features Topic. In PC-GIS X, this function is limited to working with a single Topic only. (In our PC-MAPPER A.I. software, one could set aside a number of symbols and select the desired one to add Features to the corresponding Topic.)

The New Tract and New Stand tools are for adding new Area Features. They are so named because this toolkit is by default designed for foresters. However, you can rename them for your own projects by using the Settings Tool in the Project Tool Kit.
